Once gardening was a dirty word but that was before I had a house/yard of my own and wanted something “pretty.” So, I started learning about flowers, grass, and trees … and, before I knew what was happening, I loved gardening. Loved the feeling of my hands in the dirt. Loved when plants rewarded me with blooms or tomatoes or blackberries. Oh yes, I was hooked.
As my appreciation for plants grew, I noticed a change in “what to see” when traveling. Sure, museums are okay but gardens are much more interesting. It doesn’t matter if it’s a formal garden in France or a cactus garden in Arizona. The variety or plants enchants me and I can spend hours there.
My own garden is a “work in progress” and I’ll post pictures of it as blog posts.
